better things
I took a trip to the library today to get The Golden Compass because it’s one of my girlfriend’s favorites. She has exquisite taste, so I have no doubt that it will be good. I’m intrigued already, at only two chapters in (I am a slow reader!).
I also picked up Annie on my Mind, one of those classic teen lesbian books that I’ve been meaning to read for years but just haven’t yet. So, there’s that.
It’s sad that I don’t read as much as I should, because I really do enjoy it, despite the semi-struggle. If anyone has any summer reading recommendations for me, please feel free to share!
I never knew that summer could actually be pleasant. Amazing what happens when you’re not working 50+ hours/week.

learning about astronomy and the planets in our solar system in science class, and I can’t stop thinking about Greek and Roman mythology.

Profo: “Uranus is the 7th planet from the sun, an ice planet with 27 known moons, making a full axis rotation in about 17 hours…”

Me: “Uranus, or Caelus, was the son of Gaia, personifying the sky, father of the first generation of titans…”

Hurrrrm.
