Was October 11. National Coming Out Day. A day on which I came out to everybody I know, as cliche as it sounds.
It was absolutely marvelous.
It was the day that I realized who my true friends and family were. I found support from people I barely know, and rejection from those I thought would always love me no matter what. I learned where everyone stood, and lifted an overbearing weight from my shoulders. I’ve never felt more free, more myself, since that day.
2011 was more or less one insane year, but I wouldn’t have done a thing differently.
Bring it on, 2012. Come at me.
And Happy New Year to each and every one of my friends here. I love you all very much! <3
Tag, you’re it! Here are the rules: Each tagged person must post ten things about themselves. You have to choose and tag ten people. Go to their blogs and tell them you tagged them! I tagged you! Or well, your askbox :) Once someone gives this to you, you have to pass it to at least 10 people that are amazing and deserve to know it. Nothing happens if you don’t send it, but it’s always nice to share love ♥
HOORAY! <3 okay okay, 10 things…
1.) I’m ambidextrous. It’s really handy (LOL PUNS) at times, but also really overrated.
2.) I love to eat and probably eat way more than the average person does, but it doesn’t show at all. Which is such a blessing.
3.) I have my second degree black belt and spent two years teaching children’s karate classes… which, in turn, made me pursue education as my career.
4.) I’m currently wearing socks that have a picture of Stewie from Family Guy walking proudly on a rainbow.
5.) I could probably live off of cereal, I love it so much. Especially Lucky Charms.
6.) I secretly get really happy when people mistake me for a boy.
7.) I don’t have a religion. If I had to label myself, it’d be Agnostic, I guess.
8.) I’m almost 20 and STILL have my wisdom teeth. But not for long!
9.) I play the flute in my university’s marching band. Band is probably my most favorite thing in the entire world.
10.) That being said, my school is my most favorite place in the entire world. I’ve never felt more at home anywhere else.
Tomorrow I have my first karate class since the summer, and I need to be in top shape for it to show them that I still got it. It’s a two-hour blackbelt-only class, so I’ll be with others that are actually on my level/able to judge what I do. The one place where I really truly care what people think of me is in the dojang. Anywhere else… psh. Haha. =]
